Electrical Bits & Bobs
Arrival of some of the Electrical Components that will be required for the control cabinet.
24V Power Supplies from driving the contactors and some other bits and bobs plus a 5V PSU for the MESA Control Card.
Five 20AMP Isolators for each of the Servo Motor Drivers. In the early stages I decided to plan the cabinet to have provision for a 4th Axis.
Five Contactors for individually switching the Servo Drivers. I am planning to wire the panel in-line with DMM's reccomendation to allow control and noise management. I figure if I don't take shortcuts here, then any potential problem solving with Servos in the future will easier to diagnose with the manufacturer.
Just mucking about seeing how they may be laid out inside a cabinet.
Oh it was christmas time here so just a little artistic photo of some of the components. I had not obtained everything at this stage. I was still missing the MESA Board, Servo Controllers, VFD, Line Relay and other parts like relays and isolators.
I modelled the Electrical Enclosure complete with most of the components so i could figure out a nice layout. There is some other things to add but overall I was quite satisified with the proposal. I can't remember if I mentioned it before, but I am not electrically biased, so this is gonna be a steep learning curve for me. I do have some supporting and very helpful friends to advise when I get stuck.
Treated myself to a new tool case for electrical jobs and some fresh screwdrivers, crimp tools etc. The case is not the most spacious as its over engineered really, but it is sturdy and it was only about £35 off Amazon.
