EMG Three-Jaw Self-Centering Chuck FAQ

The mechanism for our Three-Jaw Self centering Lahe Chucks are all housed in the main body. Inside consists of an internal assembly of a circular gear scroll, a selection of three pinion holder screws that engage with the Scroll to rotate the internal assembly. Three Jaws are in turn inter-connected to the scroll which enables them to open and close the jaws in unison, hence the self-centering. The assembly is then held together with a back plate cover and mounting screws. You can see by the diagram below how the system works with our Exploded assembly.
