The VMM, Vision Measurement Machine System can process a huge range or parts of differing shape, sizes, and materials. Some parts that require inspection are even very difficult to reference, or don’t have any reference points, so they can be reliably located on the staging area. The UniMetro VMM FlexFix system has been developed to help users save time and cost whilst delivering fast and reliable fixturing ready for the VMM measuring process. The FlexFix series helps to improve the throughput, reproducibility, and accuracy of the inspection process with the ability to create quick and repeatable fixturing set-ups.

What are the FlexFix Fixture Kits?

The FlexFix series VMM Fixtures are designed to come as a complete component kit. We have studied the experience of VMM users and used this as a reference to create the type and number required, of the components in our VMM Fixture Kits. The kit includes, supporting, pressing, and holding components, which allow the user to manage the fixturing easily and with no special tools required. Regardless of the size, shape and material of your components, with the FlexFix system you can easily find the right fixturing solution for you inspection measurement needs.

What are the FlexFix VMM Fixture Kit Components?

All components are made by precision manufacturing process finished with an anodised coating. Each part is identified with laser marked coding, so that complete assemblies of fixtured components can be catalogued for future use. This helps to remove the variation between different parts or inspection officers, thus increasing their measuring accuracy and repeatability.

What are the VMM Base Plates made of and how are they designed?

A contour measuring application is required for most circumstances when you are using a VMM. Our precision VMM Base Plates feature both ultra-flatness and high transmittance. This ensures that the source light maintains a straight path from the contouring light, ensuring that there is no distortion to give precision measurement accuracy.

Metal M4 screw threads are mounted inside the base plate allowing components to be firmly fixed and ensure a long and useful working life of your base plate.

Our design also features an L type magnetic fast mounting corner allowing t the user to quickly locate the base plate and conduct the VMM process.
